The Athens Youth Symphony
will be offering two string orchestra groups
Concert Strings and Philharmonia
for the spring semester 2010.

Concert Strings will service students
with less experience in note-reading.

Philharmonia will be primarily geared for
middle school age string players (and qualified younger students)
who are already note-reading well on all strings,
but who do not yet have the skills or experience
required for the Youth Symphony.

Both groups will be
conducted by Debbie Schab.

These groups will meet at Athens Academy (Presentation Hall stage)
on Sunday afternoons beginning on February 28.

Concert Strings will meet from 2:00-2:45
and Philharmonia will rehearse from 3:00-4:00.

These ensembles will perform on the AYS concert
in Hodgson Hall on May 16.

The fee for the 2010 Spring semester will be:
Concert Strings: $115
Philharmonia: $140

There will be a placement audition
scheduled for applicants on Sunday, February 14.
